It All Comes Down to Trust
Sometimes we feel, like the psalmist, David, in Psalm 82. Sometimes we feel like God is judging unjustly and accepting the wicked. We think that He is forgetting about the needy and poor. We question Him. We ask “why?” to the all-mighty, all-powerful Creator of the Universe! Who are we to question Him? “What is man that thou art mindful of him?” -(Psalm 8:4)
But the thing that we don’t understand is God’s viewpoint. When he looks at us, we are ALL wicked and unjust, “all sinned and come short of the glory of God” -(Romans 8:28) Yet the fact that He chooses even one of us should amaze us to the point beyond belief. He isn’t obligated to save any of us. Yet, in His grace He does accept those who call upon Him -(Jeremiah 33:3) He accepts and chooses those whom He pleases….He loves those whom He loves….He cares for those whom He cares for….He protects those whom He protects. It’s as simple as that, and yet we have such a hard time just accepting His will. Seems that so many times we want to “understand” and try to “diagram” life when really we should just trust God. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t make plans. Just remember that God has a plan for each of us and His is a lot better than ours, whether we know it or not. We always seem to just confuse things a whole lot more. Look at verse five in Psalm 82: “They understand not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.”
As God’s children, we have a honor and privilege to know God intimately. He is our Father. We are His sons. We have an amazing relationship with God. We can thank him every day for this high, individual, and unique favor. We, as Christians, have so much to be thankful for and nearly all the time we are not as grateful as we ought to be. God help us to be more appreciative for His numerous and unconditional blessings that He never ceases to rain down upon us! And when you do feel forgotten and abandoned—-for believe me this feeling is real—-then cry out to your Father and trust Him, “For he hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” -(Hebrews 13:5 and Joshua 1:5)
Even in our darkest hour, our hardest time, our greatest need, God is always right beside us….even when we can’t see Him. Especially when we can’t see Him.
